Description of major job duties:

The Assistant Division Director for Building's Administration is critical to the operation and capital planning of Wayne County general fund properties. The ideal candidate has a working knowledge of multiple skilled trades, including, but not limited to carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC, and experience managing facilities. Furthermore, the Assistant Division Director must be comfortable working with vendors, and facilitating contracts, in addition to answering questions from the Wayne County Board of Commissioners. This position has great latitude in making operational, policy and budget decisions in partnership with the Director of Capital Planning and Buildings Administration and the Wayne County Office of Management and Budget.


Qualified applicants will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or a related field (Is Preferred);
  • At least seven (7) years of proven experience in the building maintenance/construction field with at least four (4) years of that experience at the supervisory/managerial level.
