DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR JOB DUTIES

In the Office of the County Clerk, the Delivery Clerk operates a county van while performing duties that may include, but are not limited to: deliver and pick up of various documents, including: Court case files, interoffice mail, banker boxes of case files and county documents, and record information, such as items received and delivered and recipients' responses to messages. The Delivery Clerk will receive messages or materials to be delivered and information on recipients, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, and delivery instructions, communicated via telephone, two-way radio, or in person; load vehicles with listed goods, ensuring goods are loaded correctly; sort items to be delivered according to the delivery route; unload and sort items collected along delivery routes; plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivering goods; check with home offices after completed deliveries to confirm deliveries and collections to receive instructions for other deliveries; perform routine maintenance on delivery vehicles, such as monitoring fluid levels and replenishing fuel and perform other duties as assigned.

ELIGIBLE PERSONS

At the time of application eligible persons must have:

A High School diploma or its equivalent; AND

At least one (1) year of full-time paid experience transporting goods and/or people utilizing a van or bus; AND

A valid State of Michigan Chauffeur's license and a safe and acceptable driving record (INDICATE MICHIGAN DRIVER'S LICENSE ON FRONT OF APPLICATION)
