  • A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university with a major in Business, Computer Science, Geography, GIS, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a closely related degree as determined by the Department of Personnel/Human Resources; AND


  • Five (5) years of full time paid experience supporting GIS systems and GIS Data Bases; utilizing ArcGIS/Archview.

This experience must include three (3) years working with ArcGIS Server, ARCSDE, and ARC info; AND

  • At least one (1) year supervisory experience.

The Department Manager 4 (GIS), under the supervision of the Assistant Division Director of Roads, is responsible for providing geospatial analysis of Road Infrastructure Management/Cityworks system, maintaining and editing all RIMS GIS Geodatabases and all feature classes including but not limited to Road Maintenance Districts, roads, culverts, grade crossings, roadside features, seawall, sound walls, etc. The Department Manager 4 (GIS) will also digitize AutoCAD drawings for inclusion into Cityworks Geodatabase and manually export and import Automatic Vehicle Location data into the Cityworks Geodatabase and develop and publish printable and digital GIS maps. Additionally, the Department Manager 4 (GIS) is responsible for managing the Wayne County Command Center staff and will perform other duties as assigned.
