Develop and document MDPS development process to comply with North American OEM requirements
Key Tasks and Responsibilities • Lead North American mechanical system activities for MDPS lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and implement) with support from Korea HQ
• Work closely with Korean R&D HQ to understand and document development process and tools
• Identify gaps in process and propose solutions to close gaps
• Identify areas for improvement in process, documentation, testing, quality, etc.
• Support sales and business development teams for customer inquiries, RFI/RFQ responses and other as needed
• Support program management for production programs
• Maintain and communicate up-to-date industry-wide and OEM-specific requirements and best practices (ISO/IEC/CMMI, etc.)
Collaborative Working Relationships • MDPS teams at Mobis R&D center in Mabuk, Korea
• North American MDPS and sales teams
• Key customers

Experience Level

• 3-5 years in automotive component product development at OEM or Tier 1 supplier

Educational Requirement

BS/MS in Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or similar


- OEM or Tier 1 experience as program/process engineer or design and release engineer (DRE)
- Demonstrated thorough understanding of automotive component development processes (APQP, DVP&R, ECRs etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal, writing, and communication skills
• Desired:
- Product lifecycle management/development process experience at automotive Tier 1 or OEM
- Experience in problem solving techniques such as fishbone diagrams and design of experiments
- Experience with project management and configuration management tools
- Experience in DFMEA analysis/development and safety critical system development
- Good problem finding and solving ability
• Plus:
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements/standards. (FMVSS)
- Project/program management experience
- Knowledge of ISO26262, CMMI, and other s/w quality development processes and requirements
- Solid understanding of steering systems, preferably electrically driven power steering.
- Korean language skills
