Description

Mobis North America continues to grow its autonomous driving research and development team at its Plymouth Michigan MTCA site, and has need of a senior systems engineer to support autonomous driving and other intelligent vehicle technology projects. Key competencies are leadership in systems engineering for autonomous systems, experience defining operating envelops for autonomous systems, and experience identifying methods to predict and verify performance of autonomous systems. Familiarity with Matlab/Simulink model-based design and development in SIL simulation environments a plus. The successful candidate will lead system engineering teams delivering foundational capabilities in the autonomous and intelligent vehicle race for the future.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Thought leader on Systems Engineering for MTCA's autonomous vehicle research projects.
  • Define and mature the system engineering team's abilities and work products.
  • Guide and mature process for defining operating envelopes for intelligent vehicle systems.
  • Define methods which will be used to predict and verify performance of autonomous systems.
  • Monitor verification of ADAS systems using SIL simulation, vehicle track testing, and vehicle road testing.
  • Develop expertise and knowledge in domain of Autonomy/Systems/Robotics - Track regional intelligence and developments in field of expertise - Engage in strategic regional activities (workshops, conferences, etc) - Interact with other professionals/experts in the field

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of system engineering experience with: Advanced engineering and/or research and development experience Exposure to simulation and system analysis
  • Required: BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Preferred: Masters or Ph.D.

Required:

  • Experience with autonomous vehicles
  • Competent with Model Based System Engineering
  • Experience verifying in simulation environments and vehicle environments
  • Exposure to robotics/mechatronics/controls/perception
  • Understanding of software/systems engineering for complex systems
  • Good verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Competent with MS Excel, Project, Visio, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in a fast paced work environment
  • 8 - 12% for business trips, domestic and abroad
