QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying, Engineering or a related degree; AND
  • Must be licensed by the State of Michigan as a Professional Surveyor; AND
  • Four (4) years of full-time paid experience in Land Surveying; AND
  • At least 1 (one) year of full-time paid experience reviewing, researching, approving and reporting findings related to verifying land descriptions and boundaries.

JOB DUTIES:

Under the direction of the Engineer 5, the Engineer 4/Land Surveyor reviews subdivision plats for compliance with local ordinances and State of Michigan statutes, reviews condominium Master Deeds and Exhibit B Plans for compliance with State of Michigan statutes and maintains physical and digital filing systems of all pertinent surveying records of the Plat Engineering Division.

TYPES OF TESTS:

An Oral Information Interview (50%) will cover knowledge of land surveying, recording process, local and state ordinances and statues and related information. Personal Qualifications Interview, which may include an in-basket and/or written exercise and will be rated at (45%). Experience and Training will be worth (5%).
