Plumbers perform skilled plumbing work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment. Work is performed independently, under the general supervision of the Plumber Foreman and in accordance with standard trade practices. Work is performed at County buildings and involves the use of hand and power tools and equipment. The Plumber may work on equipment above ground level. The working conditions of the jail present a potentially dangerous environment for workers.
At the time of application; eligible persons must have:
A high school diploma or its equivalent; AND
A valid Plumber Journeyman's Card or valid State of Michigan Plumber's License; AND
A valid State of Michigan driver's license with an acceptable and safe driving record
Commercial Plumbing experience required
Master Plumber's license preferred but not required.
