REQUIREMENTS AND MAJOR JOB DUTIES:

Provide for the safety and security of jurists, court staff, citizens, and prisoners in the courthouse

Assisting as directed with screening of individuals and parcels entering the courthouse

Enforce the decorum in the courtrooms and courthouse as directed

Be prepared to make arrests and provide a proper response in the event of an emergency

Make arrests as directed by a jurist or in response to a criminal violation

Requirements:

Must be MCOLES Certified or Certifiable

Must be a citizen of the United States

Must be at least 18 years old and have obtained a high school diploma or GED

Must have a valid Michigan Driver's License and a good driving record

Must be qualified to obtain a concealed pistol license

Must pass a background investigation and a written personality test.

Successfully qualify with a firearm
