Description

PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE:

  • Implement productivity improvements through waste elimination, methods improvements and work element rebalancing
  • Utilize change management system to implement all job and workstation changes seamlessly ensuring all stakeholders understand the impact
  • Communicate and coach your customers in the GMS / Lean Manufacturing requirements and standards as you implement change

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrated experience using IE tools for operation analysis using Assembly Processing System (APS), man-machine charts, ergonomic line balance, time studies, labor / line balance system, and factory flow
  • Develop plans for line re-rates, mid-cycle enhancements, schedule changes, and future program product changes
  • Develop workstation layouts applying AutoCAD
  • Write maintenance work orders to effect floor changes
  • Develop and drive continuous improvement that improves methods of operation, work standards, and plant productivity
  • Implement, coach, and teach GMS / Lean Manufacturing concepts
  • Monitor adherence to recommended safety procedures and ergonomic guidelines
  • Support BIQ objectives
  • Drive problem solving issues for throughput and quality issues
  • Support PFMEA process and error proofing strategies
  • Familiar with ergonomic principles and a demonstrated understanding of ergonomic job set-up
  • Optimize floor space, materials, personnel, and equipment

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong working knowledge of GMS / Lean Manufacturing Principles
  • Knowledge of work measurement, manufacturing and assembly
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment with management and union personnel
  • Ability to work independently without direction
  • Problem solving experience
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated high level of analytical, computer, and presentation skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:

  • Manufacturing knowledge base of GMS / Lean Initiatives
  • Bachelor's degree
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Ergonomics experience
  • Industrial Engineering Experience
  • Vehicle assembly experience
  • Stamping, Body, or Paint experience
