JOB SUMMARY

The Division Director of Public Health oversees the daily operations of the Public Health Division, which provides environmental health, nutritional health, community health, emergency preparedness, women and children's health, and communicable disease prevention and control services to all Wayne County residents.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in one of the following: Public Health, Public Administration, Science in Nursing, Science in Administration, or related field.
  • Licensing and/or Certifications: A valid Michigan driver' license, safe driving record and have a motor vehicle available daily.
  • At least 5 years of progressive responsible consultation, supervision, and management experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a public health department.

NOTE: Employee should possess excellent problem solving, verbal and written communication, management skills, and demonstrated skills in program planning and budgeting, including planning, monitoring, implementing and evaluating services, field operations, directing, orienting, training, managing probationary periods, use of progressive discipline, policy and procedure development.
