JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Public Health Director, the Office Coordinator - MSU Extension is responsible for coordinating and assisting in the administration of the health, education, youth, veteran, senior, and social services that are provided by the Michigan State University Extension Program to residents and communities of Wayne County in partnership with Wayne County. The Office Coordinator works at multiple locations and works with staff to manage issues related to youth and the community, along with managing programming responsibilities and activities administered through those facilities. The Office Coordinator is responsible for maintaining social media accounts related to the Michigan State University Extension Program, coordinating offices at three different office locations, working with staff within those locations on youth reporting issues, and supporting other activities within those offices

JOB DUTIES

Required Tasks

  • Coordinate offices at 3 different office locations and work with staff within those locations on youth reporting issues and the management of financial resources of various programs and activities within those offices.
  • Sell, keep inventory, order, and stock pesticide manuals and soil testing kits.
  • Create a sales report. Send it to the District Coordinator for approval. Make copies of checks and forms and send them to the business office on the MSU campus.
  • Fill out deposit records, scan checks for electronic bank deposits.
  • Maintain the MSUE Wayne County webpage via Expression Engine. Serve as the primary contact person for staff in Wayne County when there is a need to upload information such as flyers, brochures, job announcements, videos, etc. Upload information on programs and activities in Wayne County that educators in Oakland and Macomb counties provide.
  • Assist the MSUE District Coordinator with various projects
  • Enter 4H Clubs and information into the 4H Online Management System
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Educational/Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of full-time paid administrative experience, which must include maintaining records, handling inquiries from the public, using various computer software, and ordering supplies, OR
  • Associate degree and one (1) year of full-time paid administrative experience, which must include maintaining records, handling inquiries from the public, using various computer software, and ordering supplies, OR
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field
