DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR JOB DUTIES

Reporting to the Community and Maternal Health Services Manager or designee, the Nurse Practitioner provides primary care or specialty services under the general clinical direction of the Medical Director and within the Wayne County Department of Health, Human and Veterans Services Public Health programs and services. The Nurse Practitioner participates in program evaluation and improvement and may assume responsibility for organizing or directing a specific specialty program, and performs related duties as assigned.


ELIGIBLE PERSONS

At the time of application, eligible persons must have:

  • Two (2) years of full-time paid nursing experience; AND
  • Master's degree (or higher) in Nursing from a nationally accredited program; AND
  • Current valid and unrestricted license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of Michigan; AND
  • Possess a current certification through an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Credentialing Agency as a Nurse Practitioner with a specialty in Adult Primary Care, Women's Health or Family Health.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

The list resulting from this examination will be utilized to fill only positions working at the Wayne County Health Department.

Applicants must obtain credentialing in IS-700 within ninety (90) days of appointment.
