DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR JOB DUTIES:
Under the direction of the Health Officer, the Department Supervisor 1, serving as the MSU Program Specialist is responsible for coordinating and assisting in the administration of the health, education, youth, veteran, senior and social services that are provided by the Michigan State University Extension Program to residents and communities of Wayne County in partnership with Wayne County. The Department Supervisor 1 works at multiple locations and works with staff to manage issues related to youth and the community, along with managing programming responsibilities and activities that are administered through those facilities. The Department Supervisor 1 is responsible for the maintaining of social media accounts related to the Michigan State University Extension Program; coordinating offices at three different office locations and works with staff within those locations on youth reporting issues and support other activities within those offices; selling, keeping inventory, ordering and stocking pesticides manuals and soil testing kits; creating sales reports to send to District Director for approval and making copies of checks, forms and send them to the business office on the campus of MSU; and filling out deposit records and making bank deposits. The Department Supervisor 1 will also maintain the MSU Wayne County webpage; serve as the main contact person for staff in Wayne County when there is need to upload information such as flyers, brochures, job announcements, videos, etc.; and assist the MSUE District Director with various projects and reports with assistance from District Support Secretary as well as Wayne County reports (via Wayne County Software System, Edwards) and perform other duties as assigned.
NOTE: Experience in Microsoft Office and Google Docs is preferred.
