DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR JOB DUTIES

The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Access to Care Division. Duties include providing support to management, preparing correspondence, answering phones, filing, data entry, monitoring office inventory and ordering supplies, maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings and transcribing minutes, and various other assignments as needed.

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the division
  • Answer phones and assist customers
  • Collect and enter payments from customers
  • Prepare memos, letters, and other documents using word processing
  • Communicate and interact frequently with the public, department heads and other County officials
  • Prepare responses to correspondence containing routine inquiries.
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence, including faxes and email.
  • Schedule and attend meetings to record minutes.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

ELIGIBLE PERSONS

At the time of application, eligible persons must have:

  • At least three years of experience as an Administrative Assistant or Customer Service Representative. Experience should include creating various documents, working with the public and handling customer service; AND
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
