DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR JOB DUTIES
The General Counsel and will oversee the Land Bank's core legal programs; provide legal advice and opinions on areas of property law and government administration; promote and implement strategic policy initiatives; ensure compliance with the Land Bank's regulatory scheme; and represent the Land Bank in litigation; among other responsibilities.
The General Counsel is envisioned as a leader on the Land Bank's team who possesses the vision to implement new ideas and solve new problems. As part of the position, the General Counsel will interface closely with local residents, governmental partners, and policymakers. This position will serve a crucial role in furthering the Land Bank's core mission of stabilizing communities in Metro Detroit.
