Job Description
Service workers are responsible for performing routine, manual, and custodial work in the upkeep of Wayne County Buildings. Specific custodial activities in a prescribed area are assigned to the employees by a supervisor who checks the work in process and upon completion. Duties include sweeping, scrubbing, buffing, and waxing floors; cleaning rest room facilities; scrubbing walls and marble cornices, slabs and trimmings; and cleaning drinking fountains. Work is generally performed under the supervision of a higher classified Service Worker or a Building Maintenance Supervisor. Service workers may also assist in the following duties; inspection of facilities and other locations to insure that the work is performed in accordance with instructions and/or acceptable custodial standards; assists in the performance of landscape work; assists in the training of new custodial employees and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

A High school diploma/GED
